Project description

If you love your home and your neighbourhood but are running out of space, adding a floor to a single-storey home is a sustainable investment that allows you to increase the value of your home. This owner of a single-family home in the Mont-Royal district decided to add a new floor to his house to make it a more prestigious residence. Our specialized architecture and design team has set to work to design a detailed plan, including a 3D plan, a mock-up, a budget and a schedule, so that the client has a clear idea of the final result.

Before starting the project, we obtained the necessary building permits for the addition of a new floor to comply with the municipality’s regulations and standards. First, we built the new roof for the 2nd floor. Then, we demolished the existing roof, installed beams and insulated the floor. Then, we erected the new walls, the roof, and sealed the building. Our electricians were responsible for connecting the existing electrical system to the new floor. Then, our finishing team performed the insulation, plastering, adding fixtures, floor covering and painting. All new windows are Energy Star- certified energy-efficient casement windows. The end result is a luxury house, with masonry cladding and a central tower, which gives it the appearance of a mansion.
