Project description

If you love your home, but want more space, adding a new floor is a smart solution and allows you, at the same time, to increase the value of your home. Our clients in Dollard-des-Ormeaux wanted to add a half-floor to their luxury home, change the exterior siding and make some changes to the facade of their home.

First, our design and architectural team set to work to design this colossal two-storey project, including the addition of new floors and the exterior transformation. First, we obtained the necessary building permits for the floor addition to comply with the regulations and standards in effect in the municipality. Then we started building a second roof for the half-floor. Then, our team demolished the existing roof, installed beams and insulated the floor. Then we erected the new walls, as well as the new roof, and sealed the building. 

The second phase of the project consisted of replacing the exterior cladding, mainly made of bricks for stone and mortar cladding. We also completely refurbished the windows and replaced them with energy-efficient casement windows, including a bay window in the living room and on the half floor. We also changed the original entrance door to a steel door and rebuilt the steps with natural stone and brick.
