Home addition projects, especially multi-storey houses, may seem very impressive. However, an addition will not only give you more space, but also increase the value of your home. These clients in Montreal’s Mont-Royal district wanted to expand their residence without making too drastic changes. After meeting with a Construction Précellence consultant, our client decided to transform the garage into habitable parts and build a new garage. Our team immediately set to work to create a 3D plan, a model and a detailed construction plan to give a better overview of the final result. 

Before starting the work, we obtained all the necessary authorizations from the city to comply with the construction standards and regulations. First, we demolished part of the garage and kept the garage door for later use. Then, we created foundations to accommodate the new parts in the old garage area. Our construction team assembled the frame, walls and ceiling. Our electricians connected the electrical system of the residence to this new room. We have added energy-efficient casement windows. The exterior siding is made of bricks identical to that of the house. 

Then, we proceeded with the construction of the new garage: excavation, pouring of the foundations, assembly of the walls, the structure and the roof. We connected the house’s electrical system, added two windows and put back the single steel garage door.
