First, we disposed of the old kitchen by removing the cabinets, shelves, counters, and, most importantly, the linoleum floor. We also did some minor electrical and plumbing work to make the new kitchen configuration functional. For the kitchen and dining room, we opted for a magnificent hardwood floor. We had cabinets and drawers made of laminate (charcoal grey under the counter and island and white for the rest of the kitchen.) The kitchen countertop has also been custom-made in three parts and has a natural stone covering. Our kitchen designer advised our clients to add stainless steel appliances (glass-ceramic stove, two-door refrigerator, chimney hood, and dishwasher) to add a touch of modernity to their kitchen. We have also incorporated sinks into a tank and a stainless steel fitting.
The centrepiece is undoubtedly the custom kitchen island in the centre of the kitchen. This island has black laminate cabinets and drawers, natural stone covering, and a stainless steel single bowl sink and faucet. We completed the décor with a white ceramic backsplash above the stove, suspended lamps above the island, as well as recessed ceiling lights distributed throughout the kitchen.
