With the bathroom and bedroom, the kitchen is the place in the house where you spend the most time. Therefore, it is important to make it a place that is functional, pleasant, but that also suits your style. A couple from Plateau-Mont-Royal wanted to completely transform their kitchen into a friendly and practical room with a contemporary style.
Before realizing this dream project, we first had to have our customers’ old kitchen at our disposal. We started by removing the linoleum floor, which had broken in several places. Then, we removed all the cabinets, counters and tapestries to make a canvas for the new kitchen. With our kitchen designer, we opted for a very light hardwood floor to create a contrasting effect. In the centre, we had a custom-made kitchen island made with a wooden base, with one part covered with black granite, and wooden covering for the dining area. The island also has a single-tank sink, dishwasher and stainless steel faucet.
To add raw materials to this kitchen, we have chosen to add dark barn wood panels, to once again maximize the contrast effect. We have had a series of custom-made wooden kitchen cabinets manufactured, as well as multiple drawers for maximum storage. Customers have chosen stainless steel appliances (electric range, two-door refrigerator with freezer and standard range hood) to match their decor easily. The counter has a black granite covering, two shelves and a ceramic backsplash.
