When these owners of a multi-storey house called on our services for a near-complete interior renovation of their home, we were up for the challenge. We needed to amass as many specialists (interior designers, kitchen designers, plumbers, electricians, plasterers, etc.) as possible so that this large-scale project would not only be successful, but executed on time.
First, we removed all floor coverings in each room. Then, our team of electricians was tasked with ensuring that every light fixture chosen by the customers was properly supplied with electricity. We also removed cabinets, kitchen counters and all the old storage spaces to make way for the new.
With the exception of the ceramic entrance hall, the entire second floor is hardwood.
The lobby had to be both practical and elegant. The customers chose ceramic flooring for its ease of maintenance. We then added a bench and plenty of storage space to accommodate the family.
To give the kitchen a modern yet classic look, we opted for simple, clean lines. We added a central island with laminate overlay and seating for three. For the dining room, we extended the kitchen’s storage (melamine glass cabinets) and added chandelier-style pendant lighting.
The living room is adjacent to the kitchen. At the customer’s request, we added three windows for more light. The customer also requested a faux fireplace for a warmer atmosphere. We chose dimmable ceiling lights.
To ascend to the upper floors, we called on the services of a staircase construction specialist to build a quarter-turn wooden staircase, with glass and wood balustrades. We refurbished a children’s bedroom on the 2nd landing, as well as a room that doubles as a home office and entertainment room, both with hardwood floors.
We used the top floor to create the master bedroom. We installed a false fireplace and two windows for more light.
Finally, we redid the basement to make it a bright, warm and practical family and entertainment room. Our electricians added the necessary wiring for the installation of a home theater in the basement. The floors are ceramic downstairs and hardwood throughout.
As a general contractor specializing in residential renovation, a project of this size requires us to take charge of all stages in order for this project to be successful. To do this, we have established business partnerships with electricians, plumbers, cabinet and counter manufacturers and even lighting experts to ensure that each customer is completely satisfied with the final result.
