While it is easy to change the interior design of your home, changing the exterior appearance is a completely different project. For both aesthetic and practical reasons, this Ahuntsic homeowner wanted to transform his stone and wooden staircase into something more uniform and durable. Our design and architecture team set to work and developed a plan for the project, divided into three phases: demolition of the stairs, stone recovery and reconstruction of the stairs.

First, our team of certified construction workers performed the laborious task of demolishing the entrance balcony, which included a masonry stone part and a wooden part. The stones will be kept for future use. Then, we poured four concrete slabs to create a staircase on two sides. We also recovered some of the stones from the old balcony to create four pillars around the new staircase. Then, we replaced the wrought iron railings with more durable stainless steel outdoor railings. Finally, the owner asked to replace the wooden entrance door with a more robust and easy-to-maintain steel door.
