Project description

For the transformation of this house, our client wanted to add a front porch, change the roof covering, change the windows, and make an extension to the 2nd floor. For work of this magnitude, the first step is to validate with the municipality and a building inspector if these changes comply with the regulations and standards in effect for residential buildings. Subsequently, our design team established a plan by choosing a new shingle siding for the roof, new windows on the second floor and the addition of a porch with a roof at the front.

First, we expanded a room on the second floor and added windows, while keeping the same vinyl siding. For the central part, we changed the casement window to a mansard window with an aluminium roof.Then, our team removed the old shingles from the roof and replaced it with a lighter coloured shingle coating. We also built a concrete front porch with steel beams to support the roof. Our team also changed the exterior lighting fixtures and the old door to a steel door with lateral glass inserts.
