Project description

For this colossal project, this owner of a two-storey house in the Mont-Royal district wanted to kill two birds with one stone, by building a simple garage to have more storage space, but also a half floor above the garage to expand his residence and a vestibule at the entrance. Our team of architects and designers immediately set to work to design a 3D plan, model, schedule and budget to give a better overview of the final result.

Before starting the work, we had to obtain the necessary building permits in order to comply with the building standards in force in the municipality. Subsequently, we demolished part of the house to free up space for the construction of the garage and the first floor. We also demolished the front balcony and the small vinyl roof. Our team disposed of the remaining materials in a responsible and environmentally friendly way. Then, we poured the foundations and built the structure and walls of the garage. Then, we installed an electrical system and a single steel garage door.

For the second part of the project, we built the new half-floor roof. Then, we added the beams, insulation and flooring, before raising the walls and structure. Our workers preceded the sealing of the new floor, the installation of electricity and the installation of Energy Star casement windows. The customer opted for acrylic stucco and red brick cladding, identical to his residence. We have also added a vestibule at the entrance with the same covering as the house, with a steel door with glass insert, concrete staircase and steel railing.
