Project description

Our profession leads us to carry out projects that are as different from each other as possible, from the smallest to the largest. For these Plateau-Mont-Royal clients, we had to transform three rooms is during this colossal residential renovation project: the living room, the dining room and the bedroom. Our customers were interested in recycled materials and wanted to give these rooms a contemporary look with a touch of rustic style.

We set this project in motion by partially demolishing the original rooms. We started by removing the linoleum floor in the living room and dining room and the carpet in the bedroom. In addition, we have disposed of the old furniture (chest of drawers, coffee table, bed base, dining table and bedside table) to make way for the new furniture. We also had to do some work on the electricity to be able to add the lights required by our clients.

We have replaced the entire original floor with a very light-coloured hardwood floor. For the living room, our customers wanted to have a lot of light with a refined and rustic style. So, we added two full-length crank windows for a view of the outside and more light. Customers opted for very pale shades with white painted wooden mouldings for all three rooms. The living room has a custom-made television cabinet and two wooden shelves. To accentuate the rustic style, our designer recommended a wooden kitchen table with chairs that are all different, as well as a mirror with a frame made of barn wood.

For the bedroom, our clients chose sliding doors made of reclaimed barn wood, with a wooden bed base, a custom wooden dresser and two wooden bedside tables. One of the bedroom walls is also covered with two panels of recovered barn wood. For the lighting of the rooms, we opted for ceiling lights in the living room and bedroom, as well as a suspended lamp in the dining room.
